The Methodology
A Governance Framework for Professionals in the Estate Space
Estate planning and estate administration touch some of the most consequential moments in a person’s financial and personal life. Certified Executor Advisors, financial planners, accountants, lawyers, and others working in the estate space bring real expertise to that work. What most don’t have is a structured governance framework behind it.
The NEXsteps Governance Methodology™ was built to provide exactly that. It gives qualified professionals a documented, consistent governance process for both the planning and administration phases of estate work. It holds up across jurisdictions, adapts to different practice contexts, and creates a defensible record of the practitioner’s process.
The methodology is proprietary and exclusively licensed. It isn’t a course, a certification, or a public resource. It’s a working framework for professionals who are serious about the governance of their practice.

A Two-Phase Architecture
The methodology is organized around two distinct phases of estate work, each governed by a separate proprietary framework.
O.V.E.R.S.I.G.H.T.™ – The Planning Phase
O.V.E.R.S.I.G.H.T.™ provides the governance structure for the estate planning phase. It brings documented order to the decisions, considerations, and practitioner actions that occur before and throughout the preparation of an estate plan. The result is a planning process that is traceable, defensible, and consistently applied across all client engagements.
S.T.E.W.A.R.D.™ – The Administration Phase
S.T.E.W.A.R.D.™ provides the governance structure for the estate administration phase. It governs the practitioner’s process from the point of death through the final distribution of the estate, creating a documented governance record for every decision and action taken along the way.
Together, O.V.E.R.S.I.G.H.T.™ and S.T.E.W.A.R.D.™ constitute a complete governance architecture for the full arc of estate work. Each framework operates independently and can be applied to the relevant phase of an engagement. Both are included in the Utilizes License.
How It Was Built
The methodology was developed around four principles that shape how it works in practice.
Jurisdiction-neutral. The framework doesn’t depend on any specific provincial, state, or national legal structure. It functions as a governance overlay that practitioners apply within the legal and regulatory environment of their own jurisdiction.
Profession-agnostic. The methodology wasn’t designed for a single designation or professional category. Any qualified practitioner whose scope of practice includes estate planning or administration work can apply it.
Practitioner-facing. The methodology governs the practitioner’s process, not the client’s experience. It’s an internal governance tool, not a client-facing product or service framework.
Proprietary and controlled. The frameworks aren’t publicly available. Access is provided exclusively through a Utilizes License issued to approved practitioners by Agapi Marketing & Consulting Ltd.
What the Methodology Is Not
The NEXsteps Governance Methodology™ is a governance framework. It doesn’t constitute legal, tax, or financial advice. It doesn’t confer a designation, credential, or certification. It doesn’t replace the professional judgment, regulatory obligations, or liability of the practitioner using it. It’s a structure within which qualified professionals apply their own expertise.
The NEXsteps Governance Methodology™ is the proprietary intellectual property of Agapi Marketing & Consulting Ltd., which develops, maintains, and exclusively licenses the framework.
